Okay folks so slightly biased post coming up just now! I’ve been slaving away over the past … few.. many months to rewrite my Unity book largely from scratch, and finally its nearly done and available to pre-order from Amazon and Packt publishing. If you haven’t heard of my original book, it was called Unity Game Development Essentials, and was the first book on Unity back in 2009. The updated version is called Unity 3.x Game Development Essentials and you can check it out here -

This book is aimed at beginners and will get you up to speed on Unity development from zero knowledge – allowing you to learn everything you need to know to get started in development and make a rounded game with all the necessary skills you’ll need to start making your own games. I also decided to let you choose which language you’d like to learn this time around so the book covers both Javascript and C# in parallel throughout.
Any questions you might have about the book, throw them in the comments and i’ll do my best to answer!
When is the estimated release date? I see Packt has September, but Amazon has November 1st.
Hi Chris, current release is mid oct to 1st nov – it depends on a lot of factors, sorry it has been delayed – its to make it better though I promise!

Amazon still has the release date as November 10th but since the 10th the book is listed as Out of Print – Limited Availability. Any idea on when this will be available?

That was an amazon mistake sorry! Kindle? not sure, but I doubt it as the screen doesnt show enough detail surely? pdf is available though.
Yes, thats because its being printed right now, should be available for delivery by monday, sorry for all the delays.

I ordered it as an eBook, says its out in december ( and its december 20/12/2011 now…) but its not available yet? When is the actual release date as an eBook???
book has been published today (20th Dec) so it should be available as an eBook right now. Where did u order ebook from, Packt? have emailed them to ask when those will be delivered.
