Amazing HelloEnjoy Unity Ident

Author: wgstone | Filed under: Showcase

Picture 2This amazing interactive ident by London studio HelloEnjoy really shows off the power of Unity on the web. Running perfectly, Carlos Ulloa’s drive around-a-logo handles perfectly too and shows what can be done with a simple beautfiul design and a cut down scene. The model looks fantastic, and even leaves skidmarks on handbreak turns!

Massive props to them for this awesome bit of Unity work, surpasses their previous letter gravity flash work with ease, not to sound biased or anything ;)

  1. Wow this is awesome, will they release the source files?

  2. WOW – cool but needs CPU-Power

  3. Thanks for the post Will. There’s so much more to come in 2010 I can’t hardly wait.

  5. No worries, looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

  6. What the car physics code

  7. Will Goldstone says:
  8. Good question, succinct, to the point and easily answerable. Sigh.

  10. Neat demo, but I found the constantly changing point of view to be a little annoying. Also, no first person mode.

  11. Will Goldstone says:
  12. I think the idea is that it emulates the style of a car advert’s many jump cuts so a first person view or controllable camera would be missing the point somewhat..

  13. Fred Anderson says:
  14. Was this made with the Pro or Free version of Unity?

  15. Will Goldstone says:
  16. This could be made with the free version of unity – the difference with the Pro version are just things like shaders etc.. so its possible the floor reflection wouldn’t work in free version. All the mechanics etc are fine.

  17. Made with the pro version i guess.

    I’m running a 64x dual quad core, 8G ram, 1G graphics card.

Either the frame rate sucked a bit, or the camera needs fixing.

I agree its very, very beautiful though.

It’s a demo and carlos is a busy man.

    Hola C4!

PS. Will, your a little defensive man. Get some sleep!

  19. Hi Sean, it runs really smooth on my 2 year old macbook, wonder if its a browser thing, which one you using? i’m on FF 3.5.7

And sorry to sound defensive, I think when I posted that i’d had 3 emails plus that comment that start something like ‘i’m writing school report on unity please tell me a) what is it b) what you can do’… and so on. you get the idea!

  20. Will i apologize.

I just checked it with my partners system.

She has vista 86x, i have vista 64x (long story – i had to buy a pc becos my xp system broke in the middle of…).

Guess what, it runs like a dream!? F$%K.

    I agree with your comments.

Also, your the reason i can actually do anything in Unity.

Your video tutorials are extensive and really good.

Hope your book is doing well.

And, plz, put it down to vista64x OEM PC, its trying to break me! ;)

  22. Yeah that vista is a funny one – I’d love to know what the difference between that win 7 is. I made the leap from XP sp3 and Windows 7 64bit pro and have been pleasantly surprised – being a fan of Mac OSX as I am Win 7 feels like its bridging the gap in terms of easy workflow, plus in windows you can cut and paste, woohoo! Have you clocked your rig to make sure you’re getting the most out of your new setup then? maybe run 3dmark or similar?

  23. Thanks Will.

I will have a look at that, it may have something to do with intels speedstep technology, i have no idea.

I tested the demo on every browser i could think of, turned off aero and still no joy. When i view the demo the car shunts consistently and the demo appears really poorly designed, which of course it isn’t!

I think i will postpone future comments!!

One thing, what i’d really like to know is what version carlos made this with, 2.5 or 2.6. I know my unity plugin is 2.6 so i assume 2.6. Carlos says he played with unity over the summer so did he make it with 2.5 then upgrade to 2.6. I’m not so experienced with unity so..

What also puzzles me is that i went to unity demos/showcase page last night and did some tests, I couldn’t replicate this problem, all the demos worked well?!

Will, does Win7 run all of your xp programs, i mean how is the compatability because i am thinking of an uninstall!

    Thanks man.
